Dreamy Margaret River
wedding venues

If you were planning an overseas or interstate wedding, the events of 2020 have no doubt thrown a spanner in the works. However that doesn’t mean you have to give up on your idyllic destination wedding. You have an incredible amount of options in the Margaret River region, from barns to farms, wineries to beaches, so you can create the day that’s just right for the two of you.

Here are some of the most spectacular wedding venues in WA’s South West.

Meelup Farmhouse

Meelup Farmhouse

Nestled in the gentle rolling hills with a country luxe vibe, is the recently opened Meelup Farmhouse. The secluded lawned area out the back is perfect for ceremonies and dancing the night away beneath cosy lights, while the restaurant décor is on trend in textured naturals and white. To make it even more fairy tale, there’s a babbling little brook on premises too. This is ideal if you want a sophisticated boho wedding day outdoors.

Howard Park

Do you consider yourself a stylish bride (or groom) with a fondness for contemporary style? You’re going to love this one. This gorgeous architecturally designed chapel makes good use of the weathered Cyprus pine, recycled European oak, black iron, and concrete to create a cool vibe for your day. To top off the luxurious scene, hanging above your heads will be chandeliers made with 40-year-old vines.

Bunkers Beach House

Beach weddings and Western Australia, the quintessential combination. Perched on the sand dunes overlooking pristine Bunker Bay, this venue can hold 100 guests seated or 140 cocktail-style. Although you might presume this is exclusively a warm weather-type of venue, it really is suited to all seasons. Picture a winter wedding with crisp blue skies, celebrating inside with the open wood fireplace, high timbered ceiling and classy jarrah floors. And the picture-perfect beach as your backdrop just steps away.

Tiller Dining

If you want a rustic wedding but keeping it high class, look no further than this 50-acre farm. Maybe you’ll marry your sweetheart in the natural amphitheatre followed by a reception at the barn dining room? Or could you see yourself exchanging vows by the tranquil spring and partying beneath the stars at the Hidden Meadow? We also love that much of the food is grown on premises and you’ll be treated to a menu prepared by renowned chef, George Cooper.

Boranup Forest

Imagine this ceremony for a moment: the serenity and the crisp scent of the forest; your guests seated beneath the canopy of ancient karri trees; and a carpeted aisle for you to glide down toward your other half as they stand in wait under the pretty wooden arch. It’s a scene that must be seen to be believed. This area is for ceremonies only, so you will have to source a venue for your reception.

Credaro Family Estate

You want that Instagram-worthy venue, but you also want a say in who caters your big day? Well, Credaro will provide the lovely venue and the quality wine, while you are free to focus on the food. Take a look at the upper lawn if you envision yourself under a tipi or a large marquee, or choose the lower lawn for sweeping views across the vineyards. And if you want a few classic WA beach shots for the album, the famous Canal Rocks is only a few minutes’ drive away.

Amelia Park Restaurant

This is a relatively new one on the wedding list and it deserves to be here. Aravina Estate

The Margaret River region is blessed with high-end wineries, but a perennial favourite is this beautiful venue with blooming hydrangeas and manicured gardens. For a luxe affair, choose the Grand Chardonnay Reception Room lit with chandeliers, or for outdoor sophistication, the Garden Marquee overlooking the lake and vineyards. Perhaps you might fancy a long table feast in the rustic Reserve Barrel Room? The walls are lined with barrels and the atmosphere cosy and festive.
