We have a brilliant idea for your next holiday.
It is well known that the Margaret River region has outrageously good food and wine, and the restaurants are something special. But on those nights where you can’t be bothered going out, you don’t have to miss out – you can have your own fine-dining experience at your luxury holiday home, complete with a private chef. That’s right; a chef will come to your house, whip up a dreamy menu, and you don’t even have to do the dishes. Or, if you’d prefer to prolong the food rendezvous, you can order a gourmet picnic hamper, cheese platter, or grazing board, and savour the experience over several days instead.
Private chefs in WA’s Margaret River region
George and Kayleigh Cooper are the hearts and minds behind Tiller Dining – George is the executive chef and Kayleigh is front of house. They have brought their businesses FoodbytheChef and The Wedding Caterer together under one roof, and now have a 50-acre Yallingup farm where they grow their own produce and host unique dining events on and off the premises.
George has been a star face at events like Gourmet Escape and Truffle Kerfuffle, so you’re in for a treat when he and his team cook for you. You’ll discuss specifics closer to the day so George can incorporate what’s in abundance and in season on the farm, and create a menu that is unique to you.
But to get the tastebuds fired up now, imagine a dinner full of canapes like age-dried jamon with pickled watermelon, Vasse lamb shoulder filo rolls with fresh yoghurt, and torched prawns with coriander, sesame and lime. Yes please!

Greig and Juliette, both originally from NZ, are chefs who really understand the South West and all the fresh produce it has to offer. Established in 2004, Olsen’s Catering in Dunsborough has catered for hundreds of weddings and more than 1000 dinner parties, so it’s safe to say the team has a huge amount of experience and you’ll be in very safe hands.
Depending on how many people are in attendance and what theme you’re going for, Greig and Juliette offer a big selection: canapes, a BBQ buffet, a long table feast, a la carte, degustation, and grazing platters. Also available are ‘ready to go’ canapes and prepared meals for an easy, relaxing night at home in your own company.

Self-catering at its finest
If you just want to relax in the comfort of your holiday home, but you also want to take advantage of the beautiful produce in the region, you still have plenty of options.
Cook up a storm in your fully equipped kitchen, whilst still being able to socialise and soak up the stunning vista.
First stop, we recommend dropping by a farmers’ market such as the popular Margaret River Farmers’ Market, which is held every Saturday, or @ The Shed in Busselton. Fill your bags with fresh fruit and vegetables, jams, chutneys, honey, homemade cakes, and biscuits.
If you want a hamper brimming with all the best goodies, look into The Larder Margaret River. Pick the basket that best suits your needs and budget and have an in-house picnic. There are all sorts of things on offer, such as Margaret River Reserve Double Cream Brie, wood fired bread rolls, char-grilled za’atar-spiced chicken sticks, and Pemberton smoked chicken pate.
If you’re a cheese board kind of gal or guy, you definitely do not want to miss Yallingup Cheese Co. Order one of their grazing boxes complete with seasonal cheeses, cured meats, dips, fresh and dried fruits, nuts, olives, crackers, and honeycomb.
