Augusta’s most iconic attraction must be Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, perched majestically on the tip of the Cape, where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. Take a tour to the top, or enjoy the cosy cafe. Ten minutes’ drive from Augusta you’ll find Jewel Cave, Western Australia’s largest show cave. Bring your boat to make the most of Augusta’s surrounding waters and rent a pen at the new Augusta Boar Harbour.. Let your imagination run free at the Margaret River Sculpture Park with its wealth of recycled timber works painstakingly created by its owner. Don’t leave town without a stop at the Augusta Bakery or a pint at the historic Augusta Hotel!

Natural Wonders

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is the final stop on the world renowned Cape to Cape Walk Track. . Walk a section of the Track or the full 123 kilometres guided or unguided. Boranup Forest is one of the region’s most recognisable images and a short drive from Augusta. Its towering Karri trees and dappled sunlight create a truly magical experience. In winter, there’s the added bonus of wildflowers on the forest floor. You can have a nature experience right in town too, with dolphins regularly visiting the Wilson Inlet where the river meets the ocean, and from June to August, whales start their journey north, passing through Flinders Bay

Adventure & Indulgence

Take a drive to Hamelin Bay and meet the resident stingrays on this beautiful white sand beach, or cast a line from the shores of the Blackwood River or Hardy Inlet. Hire a Kayak, boat, a stand up paddleboard or surfboard in town, or take a river tour by canoe. For an off-water adventure, take an electric quad bike tour of the stunning Boranup Forest, just out of Augusta – perfect for all ages from 4 to 94! If you’d rather a more leisurely approach, visit a boutique Karridale winery such as Hamelin Bay Wines, MR Barval or Glenarty Road for a long lunch.
