Timber boardwalks, meandering forest trails, interesting sculptures and secret gardens are just the beginning at Birnamwood!
Just south of the township of Margaret River, dreamlike Birnamwood house and gardens sit encircled by 33 acres of amazing karri, marri, jarrah and banksia forests.
A holiday here is more than just a getaway, and guests should prepare for a mixture of discovery and fantasy as they wander about the property. Enjoy adventures along one of the sign-posted tracks through the trees, explorers will pass metal sculptures, cross creeks, bridges and boardwalks. Children will find secret meeting places in the quiet of the bush, and wonderful picnic spots with every chance of a close encounter with (friendly!) local wildlife.
Lawns and gardens wrap directly around the rammed earth home creating a safe playground for small children who will delight in the hammock, the surprise sandpit with its huge wooden Hobbit doors and the giant timber swings hidden in the trees. A stay here will inspire the creative in all who visit!
Birnamwood's location makes it the perfect base for visiting iconic wineries, exploring underground caves, cycling in Boranup forest or adjacent 'Rails to Trails', and fishing or swimming at Contos Beach, just a 10 minute drive from the property.
Four bedrooms and two bathrooms and two living rooms, it is ideally suited for up to two families.
In the summer, the lush garden provides respite from the heat after a day out, and in the winter wander the grounds to collect kindling before lighting the wood fire.
