Dunsborough provides the perfect base to explore the multitude of beautiful beaches along the Geographe Bay coastline. It’s a humming town with plenty of cafes, restaurants and retail therapy and everything’s just a short stroll to the beach. Attractions

Ancient limestone caves are abundant in the region, but Ngilgi Cave in nearby Yallingup provides the most adventure. Walk, climb or crawl through this dazzling ancient formation whilst learning about its indigenous significance. Continue your adventure, but this time above ground, with the high ropes course at the new Next Level Monkey Business or Country Life Animal Farm for the youngsters. If the ocean’s more your style, Dunsborough has two boat ramps and a yacht club to explore Geographe Bay for boating, sailing and fishing, or join a boat tour with Jet Adventures or Naturaliste Charters. A stay in Dunsborough is not complete without a visit or three to the delicious Simmo’s Ice-creamery.  There’s a number of seriously good boutiques in town and plenty of opportunity for retail therapy.

 

 

Nature & adventure

White sand and turquoise waters line Dunsborough’s coast and there’s almost always a beach completely protected from the wind, making it a haven for those who like to paddle board, SUP, kayak or jet-ski. September to December it’s perfect for whale watching see the magnificent humpback, southern right and rare blue whales migrate these waters, with tour boats departing the bay daily. Dunsborough boasts an abundance of scenic bush walking trails, both along the coast and within the neighbouring Meelup Regional Park. Mountain bikers can enjoy the newly carved bike trails within Meelup too, and the foreshore has pathways to explore, bike hire is available . The Dunsborough Country Club offers golf, tennis and lawn bowls and the Dunsborough Lakes Golf Club provides an alternative course. Dunsborough also hosts the X-Adventure Race each year.

There’s always something happening in Dunsborough, and it’s usually abuzz with locals and visitors gathering for coffee, late breakfasts and long lunches.  Book a table at Dunsborough’s exciting new restaurants Blue Manna and Yarri, or take the family for a tasty pub lunch at the Dunsborough Tavern. Join in a local yoga, pilates or gym class at one of several fitness studios, or relax with a massage or facial at a day spa. Art lovers can enjoy the stunning galleries pottery, wood works, sculptures and photography, including the Christian Fletcher Gallery providing regional sightseeing inspiration. Annual festivals include Jazz by the Bay, Margaret River Region Open Studios, Cabin FeverSculpture by the Bay, South West Yoga Fest and Margaret River Gourmet Escape.
